Our solution unlocks millions of acres for solar energy generation, supports crop production, and empowers rural communities – while generating x10 revenue per acre.
Power and profit unleased.
Problem
If you had one acre of land, would you use it to produce food or electricity?
We come from a family that has been in agriculture for over 5 generations, and we’re experiencing a conflict first-hand: farmers and solar developers are competing for the same lands.
While essential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, solar farms require significant land and often favor flat, sun-rich terrains, which coincide with our prime agricultural lands.
We need an urgent solution.
Solution
Our solution occupies -95% space and generates +10% more revenue.
We enable dual land use by scaling an innovative, but proven technology: vertical bifacial panels, which require minimal space, allowing farmers to keep farming.
Besides, our revenue-share model increases income for farmers supporting the so-in-need rural communities and protecting our food supply system.
Origins
Born between Harvard and MIT.
With the support of Harvard and MIT, we designed a racking structure (patent approved), researched about optimal photovoltaic modules, and tested our technology on real cereal farmlands (wheat and barley) in Zamora, Spain.
Having proved that our solution occupies -95% space, generates +10% revenue, and minimizes dust accumulation, we are now installing commercial solar plants.
Impact
